Don’t be 50!

Well, I just completed phase one of my Medical clearance for joining the foreign service.  A piece of advice — don’t be over 50.  You get a few extra tests to add to the fun.  Yeah, I know, you have no choice.  Neither did I.  I had a morning appointment, and drove into DC very early to make sure I wouldn’t get caught in traffic.  I was very (hours) early, and normally I would have stopped for some breakfast, but they asked me to fast (except for water), so I was left with not a lot to do.  I finally stopped by the security desk about 45 minutes before my appointment, and when I got to the medical center they took me immediately.  So far as they were concerned, the sooner they could get started with me the better!

Back to see the doctor on Wednesday.
