So THAT’s why…

…my cousin Pat lived with us for a year back when I was a kid!  Under the law back then, to keep her US citizenship she needed to reside in the US for a certain period of time, and until then hadn’t done so.  I don’t know if she’s ever used her citizenship, but she has it.  Of course, if she was born when I was, there would have been no requirement, since the law changed.

That’s one of the things I learned my first week in Congen.

Whether it’s spring or not having to think about French, I’ve had a serious attitude adjustment.  I’m really excited about getting to post.  I’ve started cleaning out my house, boxing books, separating out winter clothes (no need for them in Benin) thinking about whether (and what) car to bring over…
